Our transformative Whitelands project breathes new life into this early 19th century dwelling through a complete reorganisation of the internal layout. The primary goal was to create more light filled spaces that had a stronger connection to the outdoor surroundings.
The central hub of the home was transformed, with the relocation of the kitchen and living spaces to the southern end of the dwelling. Internal walls were removed to make the space one open plan expanse, while an impressive 8m glazed opening was created in the southern wall, providing panoramic views across the rolling fields and creating the wow factor the client craved. This design decision allowed natural light to cascade deep into the floorplan, creating light filled enjoyable living spaces.
Adjacent to the new south facing living area, a new two-tiered patio area was created to allow the interior spaces to seamlessly flow outdoors. Featuring planter walls, porcelain tiling and a sunken seated area with oak pergola structure, the outdoor areas became an extension of the family home.
